Ages: Middle and High School, 6th - 12th grades. Summer Session runs May-August 2025 (dates TBA) for Zoo Crew, Junior Zoo Keeper and Teen Leader programs. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo’s Teen Programs provide meaningful life experiences that inspire teens to take conservation action both on and off Zoo grounds through education, leadership, stewardship and environmental exploration. Admission to the program is through an application process. Online applications for Zoo Crew, Junior Zoo Keeper and Teen Leader will be open during this time. An application fee applies. Once you have completed your application fee transaction you will get an automatic generated email that contains the link to your application! All applications must be submitted by midnight on February 10, 2025.

Dog Days at the Zoo (Feb. 14 & 25)
On Friday, February 14 and Tuesday, February 25, get an extra ticket to make your family outing complete! Bring your canine kiddo for a Zoo adventure. For these special dates, you can bring your well-behaved dog to the Zoo with you! Simply purchase a dog ticket along with your family’s human tickets, and Fido can experience many of the sights, sounds and smells that make the Zoo so special. Dog tickets are limited. Date Night Starlight Safari – Adults Only 21+ (Feb. 15, Mar. 15, Apr. 19 )
Adults 21+. Offered Feb. 14 (sold out), 15, Mar. 15, Apr. 19. Want a change of scenery on a weekend night? Come join us under the stars for an adults only private evening tour of our mountainside Zoo. We will enjoy a beverage to start off the night, then stroll under the stars to see what our animals do at night, we will even get an opportunity to meet one of our Loft animal ambassadors! Ages 4-5 years. Get ready to hop like a wallaby, waddle like a penguin, and slither like a snake! From the swift sprints of leopards to the playful leaps of otters, together we will learn about animal's unique movements through the wildest of wiggles. Registration is required.

From the very tops of the alpine summits to the base of forested foothills, wildlife and plants alike have perfected their adaptations to surviving some of the most challenging mountain habitats. Spring Break Day Camps K – 6th Grades – (March 24, 25, 26, 27, 28)
Grades K-6th. Offered March 24, 25, 26, 27, 28. Register for a single day or all five! ZooVet Edventures: Put on your vet coats and get ready to explore the unique veterinary cases at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo! Together we will curiously review some of the fascinating veterinary cases the Zoo has seen over the last decade. Registration is required and opens online January 1, 2025.
Hands-On Homeschool: Baby Boom
Ages Elementary and Middle School. Spring is the season of new life – and baby animals! From wobbly fawns taking first steps to fluffy chicks learning to fly, every animal starts life with incredible instincts. Join us as we discover the amazing ways these little ones grow up in the wild. Registration is required.
Outdoor School – Teen Community: Pollination Conservation
Age: Middle School & High School. As the spring season starts to arrive so does the return of flowering plants and pollinator partners. Join us as we learn about the dynamic relationship between pollinators and the natural world. We’ll study some resident species here at the zoo while also focusing on ways we can help pollinating species right in our own backyards. Registration is required.
Outdoor School: May the Forest Be With You
Age: 3rd-6th grade. Come celebrate Star Wars Day at the zoo! Together we’ll learn about the one true force on our planet, the force of nature! We’ll study both the light and dark sides of our natural world and even try our hands at making our own lightsabers out of natural materials! Registration is required.
Run to the Shrine (May 17 & 18)
Cheyenne Mountain Zoo invites all ages of world class runners and families alike to Run to the Shrine, offered on the evenings of Saturday, May 17 and Sunday May 18, 2025. Run to the Shrine is a 4-mile run/walk course that curves through the Zoo, up to the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun and back down into the Zoo. Run to the Shrine has become an annual Cheyenne Mountain Zoo tradition, and it is the only time that guests are allowed to travel up to the Shrine of the Sun by foot! In addition, Run to the Shrine is an important fundraiser for the Zoo. Registration is required.

Kick off your summer with Cheyenne Mountain Zoo during the first adults-only event of the season! Don’t miss this adults-only event. Enjoy all-inclusive samples of beer, wine, spirits and soft drinks while tasting delicious eats from area restaurants. Local musicians will set the mood throughout the Zoo and have you dancing the night away until 9:30 p.m. This evening is for adults 21 and older ONLY. IDs must be presented on event night. Ages 12-18. CMZoo’s Youth Leadership Action Board invites you to the 7th Annual Youth Conservation Leadership Conference (YCLC), right here on the mountainside. This conference is hosted by your teenage peers as a common ground conference to work towards worldwide conservation education efforts. Registration is required. Boo at the Zoo – (October 17-19, 24-26, 31)
Seven nights! Evenings of October 17-19, 24-26 & 31, 2025 - 4 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. All ages. Come see the original creatures of the night. It’ll be all treats and no tricks for your little pirates and princesses at this year’s Boo at the Zoo, the region’s most unique Halloween event. Boo at the Zoo is a fun way for families with young children to trick-or-treat and enjoy Halloween festivities in a safe environment, and all of our candy is made with sustainable palm oil to help protect wild orangutans! Advance timed admission tickets are required, and will be on sale closer to the event.
Electric Moonlight
Adults 21+. Celebrate holiday lights and cheer during this adults-only event, Electric Moonlight. This event combines our festive holiday lights with indoor sampling areas featuring beer, wine, spirits and soft drinks while tasting delicious eats from area restaurants (all while supplies last) – just like at our popular summer event, Moonlight on the Mountain!
