Mountaineer Sky Ride

A View to Remember.

Take our chairlift-style, open-air Sky Ride to see spectacular views of the Zoo, Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado Springs and the Eastern Plains.

Sky Ride Hours

All hours are weather permitting.
– May 1 – Labor Day, 9 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. (last ride at 4:15 p.m.)
– September – April, Saturdays & Sundays only, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. (last ride at 1:30 p.m.)
– March 9-31, 2024 (Spring Break), 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. (last ride at 2:30 p.m.)

Location

Departs from inside the Zoo:
– Location – between Giraffe Plaza and Rocky Cliffs (Rocky Mountain goat yard).
– To get there from the Zoo front entry, go up the main ‘Road to Shrine of the Sun,’ and take your first left.

– Please note: Access to the Zoo is not available from the top of the Sky Ride. Walking down from the top is not permitted; guests should plan to ride the Sky Ride in both directions – up and down.

Sky Ride Admission

Admission combo packages are offered at the Zoo’s front entry gate with your Zoo admission.
Or, once you are inside the Zoo for the day, you can pay regular price at the Sky Ride ticket booth.

Receive $1 off Sky Ride tickets when you check in at admissions with your advance timed tickets! (Sky Ride tickets are not currently available online, but this discount will be honored for Sky Ride tickets purchased at admissions. The discount will not be available for Sky Ride tickets purchased at the Sky Ride booth.)

Regular Price
After you are inside the Zoo you can purchase regular price tickets at the Sky Ride ticket booth.

Ride Time & Destination

Rules
  • The maximum capacity per chair is 4 people.
  • Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by another rider who is 12+ years of age.
